The major supermarket chains face a fresh challenge as Amazon offers free delivery to its amazon prime members.
Amazon has replaced its previous system were prime members – who already had to pay £7.99 – needed to pay an extra £2.99 for a food order. Now select customers can, as long as they spend £40 on fresh orders, have their groceries delivered for free.
As of today, the offer is only available to Prime members in the South East of England (Check here to see if it’s available for you) but by the end of the year, the e-commerce giant hopes to expand the service to all of its UK customers.
Amazon Fresh is now free with Prime
